If the player has trouble playing music in the background when you lock your phone, it's because of a battery setting on your device. you'll find how to fix it.
Playing music in the background
If the music stops as soon as you lock your phone, your phone is shutting the browser down in the background to save battery. You can change this in your phone's settings:
Settings → Apps → your browser (e.g. Chrome) → Battery → "Unrestricted"
The exact wording varies by phone ("Battery optimisation" or "Don't optimise"). After that, the music keeps playing even with the screen locked.
